Happy summer to all! Thanks for checking in... The Cops are getting their passports ready as we're embarking on our first trip outside the US, with two shows this week at the Sled Island Festival in Calgary. Our pal Spiral Stairs invited us to play the festival and we couldn't be more thrilled. Not only do we get to chill in Canada for a few days, we get to see some amazing bands like Wire, Broken Social Scene, and Preston School of Industry, among others. Let it be known that The Cops love Canada and their wonderful government, that gives health care coverage to EVERYONE in the country. Not to mention, they award grants to musicians who want to make records. Wow... a government that takes care of it's people AND supports art... Viva Canada!

We're playing one show in Seattle this summer on Saturday July 5th with the impenetrable Long Winters and BOAT. This stands to be our only show in the US this summer and we're excited to shake it up a little for our first time at the Showbox. We hope to see all of our Seattle friends out!

We'll be spending the rest of our summer writing new songs and plotting our next move. We have some interesting ideas on releasing our next record and we'll keep you posted as it develops. Also, look for more live dates this fall. We can't stay away for too long!
